Wreck in White Abbey

Wreck

What is recorded here

White Abbey still holds a submerged wreck beneath County Antrim waters. The lost vessel may have struck hidden rocks or forgotten shallows, pulling men and merchandise into the dark. That much is certain; the rest belongs to the sea.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Wreck. Recorded period: POST-MED; C19TH. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
