Detached terrace of three two-storey former gasworks workers' houses, built c.1890, with adjoining modern sheds to north and south. Now in use as store. Northern end house two-bay with one first floor window, middle is three-bay, and southern is three-bay with one first floor opening. Pitched natural slate roof with grey clayware ridge tiles, red brick chimneystacks with string course and terracotta pots, and replacement rainwater goods. Coursed squared rubble walls, with red brick to north gable. Square-headed window openings with chamfered tooled, grooved block-and-start surrounds, lintels and sills, and six-over-six pane horned timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door openings with similar detailing and having timber panelled and one timber battened door, with overlights.

This fine terrace of workers' houses is a rare instance in Monaghan Town. The masonry is of high quality, with particularly fine work to the opening surrounds. The contrast between cut stone, squared rubble, and brick, is interesting and adds textural and visual interest.
