Round- or segmental-headed central door opening approached by two cut-granite steps, timber doorcase with panelled pilasters supporting "Cyma Recta"- or "Cyma Reversa"-detailed cornice on entablature on "Acanthus"-detailed fluted consoles, and moulded rendered surround supporting red brick voussoirs centred on rusticated cut-granite keystone framing timber panelled door having overlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and red brick voussoirs centred on rusticated cut-granite keystones framing replacement two-over-two sash windows. Square-headed window openings to rear (west) elevation centred on square-headed window opening (half-landing) with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement casement windows centred on one-over-one timber sash window. A house representing an integral component of the later nineteenth-century domestic built heritage of Enniscorthy with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form centred on a Classically-detailed doorcase demonstrating good quality workmanship; the vibrant red brick offset by silver-grey granite dressings producing a lively two-tone palette; the slight diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a graduated visual impression; and the decorative timber work embellishing the roofline. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original or sympathetically replicated fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior where contemporary joinery; restrained chimneypieces; and sleek plasterwork refinements, all highlight the artistic potential of a house making a pleasing visual statement in Saint John's Road
