This black commemorative plaque records: This plaque commemorates Dr Wong Fun (Huang Kuan) 1828 - 1878. Graduated MD, August 1855. Dr Wong is the first Chinese graduate of the University of Edinburgh and believed to be the first Chinese graduate from a European university.
