Well in Lorrha

Natural spring well now dried up covered with stone roofed structure which may have had a corbelled roof now mainly destroyed standing beside a stream running through Lorrha monastery. Although there is no local tradition of a pattern or any association with St. Ruadhan of Lorrha, the siting of the well may suggest a possible association with the early Christian monastery (TN004-010011-). The remains of a possible sunken roadway can be seen in the field running adjacent to the well may suggest that this well is pre-1700 in date. St. Ruadhan's holy well (TN004-010007-) is located 145m to NNE and the Dominican friary (TN004-010001-) is 155m to WSW.
