Weir is an eighty-metre post alignment crossing a foreshore creek beside Bush Island on the Shannon estuary. Its oblique bracing still marks the path where water, fish and human patience met. The structure turns a ordinary tide into a trap, revealing how much life depends on redirecting nature rather than resisting it.

On the N bank of the Shannon estuary adjacent to Bush Island. Described by O’Sullivan (2001, 301-2) as a post-medieval ‘post alignment with two lines of obliquely set bracing, crossing creek on upper foreshore (intersecting with Bush Island 9 [CL062-042005-]), NW of Bush Island, oriented N-S, 80m long.
