Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1880, with foliated spout, fluted cap and finial, banded shaft and cow tail handle. Set on stepped concrete platform.

This is an attractive cast-iron water pump located in the centre of Tracton village. It would once have acted as a communal water source. The banding and fluting are well-executed as is the elegantly curved handle, and these add artistic interest to an otherwise utilitarian object.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
