In the Civil Survey (1654-6) a description of the boundary of Magorbane Parish in 1640 refers to 'a brooke on the lands of Ballyvadin…And along by the sayd Brooke, to the mill of Klyconell' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 197). This watermill is unlocated within Kilconnell townland.
