According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Curraghnemony' there stands 'a grist mill' which in 1640 was under the proprietorship of 'James Prendergast of Tulloemealane Esqr Irish Papist' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 339). The mill is unlocated within the northern part of the townland of Curragh.
