Freestanding single-bay two-stage telegraph tower or watch tower, built 1804-6, on a square plan. "Defunct", 1809. Roof not visible behind parapet. Rendered battered walls with rendered battlemented parapets on lichen-spotted chamfered corbels having lichen-spotted coping. Square-headed window openings (first stage) with concealed dressings having chamfered reveals. Square-headed window openings (second stage) with lichen-spotted sills, and concealed dressings having chamfered reveals framing remains of timber fittings. Interior in ruins. Set in unkempt grounds on headland.

A telegraph tower or watch tower representing an important component of the early nineteenth-century built heritage of County Waterford with the architectural value of the composition confirmed by such attributes as the compact square plan form; the feint battered silhouette; and the monolithic battlements embellishing the roofline.
