Substantial stone bridge built across ravene immediately N of Halfway, consisting of 3-semicircular arches. Construction began 1847 for the Cork Bandon and South Coast Railway (Creedon 1986, 11). Ballinhassig Tunnel to NE built for same line; c. 900 yards long (ibid., 14). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
