Pairc na gCruiscin, the Field of the Pitchers, hid several cinerary urns before humans stopped remembering where the soil marked them. The vessels still belong to the earth, but the field has vanished from human knowledge. What is left is a name that points at nothing visible, forcing imagination to complete what memory abandoned.

'Pairc na gCruiscin - Field of the Pitchers - It is said that many years ago, several 'vessels' were found in this field - these were undoubtedly Cinerary Urns. Exhaustive enquiries failed to elicit any further information.' (Bowman 1934, 122). Location of field not known. Cinerary urn burial; likely dates to the Bronze Age. Its significance lies in the presence of cremation practices and urnfield deposition typical of early Irish funerary traditions.
