Freestanding pillar, dated 1831, on a circular plan. Set on green.
A pillar erected by the 'Corporation [on the site] of [an] old Windmill' [SMR WX037-061----] representing an integral component of the early nineteenth-century built heritage of Wexford: meanwhile, a much weathered benchmark remains of additional interest for the connections with cartography and the preparation of maps by the Ordnance Survey (established 1824).
