Tynemouth North Point is a coastal headland composed mainly of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The rock is notable for its resistance to erosion, which has allowed the headland to persist as a prominent geographical feature along the North Sea coast.
