Situated in a hollow on a marked SE-facing slope, 160m NW of 'Trinity' (Ballyhenry) graveyard (WI019-021001-). Natural spring marked by some loose boulders and a modern wooden cross. The pattern day was held on Trinity Sunday (the first Sunday after Whitsuntide) (Price 1967, 410). Linked to the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the well was a site of pilgrimage and ritual on Trinity Sunday, when locals gathered for blessings and healing. Traditionally, the water was believed to have curative properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and general well-being.
