Castle Dorras rose as a tall stone guard on the Downpatrick downs, watching the coast and fields below during the late medieval years. Its height may have served a proud local family, a travelling trader, or a keeper of harbour fees, though no name has reached us. The tower still stands as a ruined outline, its rooms open to rain and wind, inviting imagination into the dark spaces where human life once moved.
