What is recorded here

Situated at the edge of the floodplain of the River Suir with the W-E Kilbunny Stream 30-40m to the SE. The Romanesque parish church of Guilcagh (WA008-010001-) is within a small rectangular graveyard (WA008-010002-). There are two bullaun stones outside the doorway and an altar has been built into the E wall. Fragments of a chest tomb of Peter Power (dims. c. 1.2m x c. 0.6m) with an inscription in raised roman lettering and the date 1645 and perhaps also two side panels (dims. c. 0.6m x c. 015m) with figures, including a crucifixion, are missing since the late 1960s. Chest tomb, likely medieval in date. Its location near a Romanesque church suggests a possible ecclesiastical or burial association.
