What is recorded here

At the base of a low SE-facing escarpment, above the flood-plain of the Black River. There are no visible remains of this holy well. It may have been removed during sand extraction activity in the area. Tobernacully is traditionally associated with Saint Nathy (Naomh Naithí), a 7th-century Irish saint known for founding monastic sites in the region. The well was historically visited for its supposed curative properties, particularly for skin ailments and eye complaints, and was linked to local pilgrimage traditions.

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
