On W side of road; access by path from road. Well, from which stream rises, marked by two rag-covered trees; some coins at base. Linked to St John the Baptist, the well was traditionally visited on St John's Eve (23rd June) for its supposed healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and general protection. The placement of coins and rags at the site reflects ongoing folk practices blending Christian devotion with older traditions.
