Natural spring well which forms a large pond located in centre of old fish-pond which is indicated on first ed. OS 6-inch map. No evidence of any enclosing feature around well and location inside fish-pond suggests it is unlikely to be used as a holy well. Inch Church (TN034-090) located 350m to SW suggests the possibility that it could have been used as a holy well. Toberfelim is traditionally associated with Saint Fillia (or Felim), a 7th-century Irish saint known for her ascetic life and healing miracles. The well was historically visited for its supposed curative properties, particularly for eye ailments and general wellness, with local folklore suggesting that water collected at dawn was most potent.
