Tobereendoney is not a true well but the mouth of a man-made underground passage in County Limerick, still holding water and remembered locally as Sunday's Well though no devotion remains. It sits forty-five yards from Lady's Well in the same field, perhaps the older site before the familiar shrine took the field's honour. A person might have dug the passage to hide water, tools or memory from ordinary sight, leaving only a dark opening that still catches rain.

Ó Danachair (1955, 208) recorded the following details about this holy well; 'Toberreendoney on 1840 map. This appears to be the entrance to a Man-made underground passage, not a well proper. It usually holds some water. Still called "Sunday's Well" by some, but there is no tradition of any devotion. Said to be the old site of Lady's Well (LI056-027----), which is in the same field, about 45 yards from this well'. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 03 July 2019
