Ó Danachair (1955, 208) recorded the following details about this holy well; 'Toberbreedy on 1840 map. A slow spring, lined with stone, in an open field behind Kilbreedy church ruin. Toberbreedy, Kilbreedy East is associated with Saint Breedy, a lesser-known early Irish saint, and was traditionally visited for its supposed healing properties, particularly for skin ailments. The well's continued recognition as holy, despite the decline of its rituals, reflects the persistence of local Christian and folk traditions in rural Ireland.
