Toberabarrann, near Ballyvergin, is traditionally associated with Saint Barran, a 7th-century Irish monk and hermit known for his ascetic practices and healing miracles. The well was historically visited for cures related to skin ailments and general well-being, with pilgrims often making the journey on specific feast days.
