In low-lying marshy ground, 100m SE of Ballintober Abbey (MA089-058004-). A natural spring which flows along a ditch. No visible masonry. Now known as Tobermore. Linked to Saint Patrick, the well may have been a site of early Christian pilgrimage or devotion, reflecting the widespread veneration of the saint in Ireland. Holy wells associated with Saint Patrick were often believed to have curative properties, particularly for eye ailments and general healing.
