Tober Knockageely

Marked similarly on the 1837 and 1914 eds of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as Tober Knockageely, and situated in a low-lying level landscape. It was described in 1996 as a rectangular water-filled depression (dims 7m E-W; 5m N-S; D 1.2-1.4m) enclosed by a concrete wall on the N, E and S sides with no record of, or knowledge of, veneration. It is now enclosed in a sealed concrete well-head (diam. c. 1.5m). Fulacht fia (RO015-067----) is c. 16m to the NW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revised upload: 8 September, 2015
