Explorer Tom Lock in County Dublin is on the Grand Canal and looks like it's frozen solid. Built around 1790 with timber gates and limestone chambers. Try not to slip on the ice if you go near the water.
garda station/constabulary barracks810 ydExplorer Tom Garda station or constabulary barracks on Harcourt Terrace is a U-plan building from 1948 that’s now just offices. It has red brick and cut stone dressings, looking conservative and Georgian-influenced even though it’s technically Modernist. It’s got a central breakfront that looks quite official.
