Detached three-bay single-storey over basement lock keeper's cottage, built c.1800, with single-bay adjoining block to west. Located at the 30th lock on the Grand Canal. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks. Smooth render to walls. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Gable fronted porch with timber battened door. Set at edge of canal.
This house forms part of a group with the related canal structures in the area. Its simple design has a pleasing symmetry and it retains much original materials and fabric making it a charming addition to the canal.
