The Roaches (Upper Tier) is a sandstone sea cliff or coastal rock feature, part of the Middle Bunter Sandstone Formation, dating to the Triassic period, around 250–240 million years old. It formed from ancient desert dunes that were later submerged and lithified, and is notable for its striking vertical cliffs and popular status as a rock climbing site.
