What is recorded here
Freestanding Celtic Cross-topped cut-limestone monument, dated 1898; unveiled 1903, on a square plan. Set in landscaped grounds.
A monument by Patrick Molloy (----) of Callan, County Kilkenny, erected 'IN MEMORY OF EDMOND POWER [d. 1799] WHO WAS HANGED IN DUNGARVAN…ALSO IN MEMORY OF THE HEROES OF '98 WHO FOUGHT AND SHED THEIR BLOOD FOR IRELAND'. NOTE: The subtle superimposition of letters shows the correction of the spelling of "fought" from the original "faught".
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
