What is recorded here
Detached five-bay single-storey school, dated 1867. The school is constructed in squared rubble with some brick banding. The timber door is finished with diagonal sheeting. There is a large decorative bracketed porch hood over the door. Windows are mixed and include paired lancets, "spoked" rose style and pointed arch with plate tracery. The pitched roof is finished with natural slate with some decorative bands. There is a small louvred square fleche which is set diagonally. The school is slightly set back behind a gravelled garden and a timber picket fence.
A delightful school with no apparent loss of detail or character. While of importance in its own right it also shares a group value with the adjacent church.
