Templeshenane was St Senan's Church in County Offaly, marked as a burying ground on the 1838 map before losing every visible trace. The name preserves the church and the dead it held, even though the earth has taken back the walls, stones and boundaries. What remains is a absence shaped like a place, remembering the lives that once gathered there.

No surface trace visible of church or burial ground (OF026-036002-). Marked on 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a 'Burying Ground' and described in the OS Field Name Books as 'Templeshenan', which is derived from Teampull Sheanain (St Senan's Church) and described as 'These are the remains of an old church and burying ground (OSFNB 1837-40, vol. 1, 61). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
