Templemary Church vanished from North Cork except for a rectangular shadow on old maps and a graveyard still standing above its ghost. Lewis wrote of ancient ruins in 1837, but by 1842 the survey marked only the site, as if the church had dissolved into soil and memory. The graves remain, yet the walls did not, leaving behind a hole shaped like worship.

Depicted as rectangular structure (c. 12m WSW-ENE; c. 7m NNW-SSE) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; site of church 'traceable' according to OS Field Books of 1840, E end in 'Benanagh townland' (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 4, 242). Lewis (1837, vol. 1, 236) describes 'the ruins of an ancient church or chapel'. Marked 'site of' on 1842, 1905 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. No visible surface trace.
