This is where Cobham’s social and political clique gathered - an all-male safe space for drinking, holding forth and partying. It was severely damaged by fire in the 1840s.

The Temple of Friendship was a meeting place for Cobham's 18th-century social and political elite, including members of the influential Howard family. It was important as a hub for networking and informal governance in the local area before being destroyed by fire in the 1840s.
