Susan McKenna-Lawlor

Susan McKenna-Lawlor is an Irish astrophysicist born in Dublin on 3 March 1935 who built space instruments for European and Soviet missions. She studied experimental physics at University College Dublin, taught at Maynooth University, and founded Space Technology Ireland Ltd in 1986. Her work placed particle detectors on the Giotto and Phobos spacecraft, carrying Irish-made science into distant planets and comets.
