Sunday's Well is a Cork suburb named for a holy well whose Irish title means Well of the King of Sunday. It sits on a north-west ridge above the River Lee, where a riverside hamlet became a respected neighbourhood. St Vincent's Church, Sundays Well RFC and the boating club all grew from that same place, giving the area a rare layer of faith, sport and memory.

Linked to Saint Fanahan, Sundays Well is traditionally associated with healing and was once a site of pilgrimage. The well's name and location suggest it was part of a broader network of early Christian holy wells venerated for their curative properties.
