Structure

A dense band (Wth 1.88m; D 0.44m) of mixed brushwood, roundwoods, a split timber and occasional twigs, up to ten pieces deep in opposing drain faces. At the W end of the band, the site consists of light brushwood and occasional twigs regularly deposited in an ENE-WSW direction. Towards the centre of the site, another small group of mixed brushwood are orientated NNW-SSE. At the E end of the site, the wood is more irregularly deposited and consists of roundwoods (diam. 0.061-0.08m), heavy brushwood and a possible upright. Evidence for woodworking is confined to a half-split roundwood. The wood is in poor condition and has been greatly disturbed by machinery. It sits in well-humified peat containing Menyanthes.
