Structure

A piece of alder brushwood (L 0.92m; diam. 0.032m) in the drain face. It is in poorly humified Sphagnum peat containing abundant Eriophorum and fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
