What is recorded here
The site (Wth 1.68m; D 0.07m) consists of a coherent band of predominantly light brushwood and twigs in the drain face. The brushwood is up to eight pieces deep, although sparsely arranged. The components tend to be orientated N-S. A metal-cut chisel point is noted. Oak was the most frequent wood species identified, with willow and alder also recorded. The site sits in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with wood fragments and Eriophorum.
