Structure

Two planks in the drain face (L 2.03m; Wth 0.5m; D 0.046m). One plank is laid above the other and at an angle of 45° to it. The planks may have been laid end to end originally and their current position may be due to disturbance. Both planks are radially split and have damaged mortices. The site is situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and ericaceous remains. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
