Structure

Two radially split planks orientated NNE-SSW in the drain face (Wth 1.04m; D 0.14m). Woodworking is evidenced by toolmarks on the end of one of the planks. The site may represent a disturbed togher but no direct associations with similarly composed sites could be discerned. The site is situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and ericaceous remains. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
