Structure

Two pieces of light brushwood in the drain face (Wth 0.45m; D 0.2m). One of the pieces has a metal-cut chisel point, the other has been broken and torn. The brushwood was initially recorded as a single site, however, they are unlikely to be associated as they are situated in different peat strata. One piece is situated in well-humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and ericaceous remains; the other is in well-humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
