What is recorded here

A single piece of brushwood (L 0.5m min.; diam. 0.03m) in the drain face situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with large pockets of Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
