Structure

Three pieces of brushwood (Wth 0.62m; D 0.23m) in opposing drain faces. The brushwood is unevenly spaced and does not form a discernible structure. One of the pieces has evidence of branch-trimming and the remains of a degraded toolmark. Two of the pieces are situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat. The association between the elements is unclear as the third piece is situated in an overlying strata of disturbed peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
