Structure

A deposit (L 1.94m; Wth 0.145m; D 0.04m) of two pieces of brushwood, a roundwood and a post on the field surface. The brushwood and roundwood are closely set and parallel. The post lies 0.4m to the NE and is set at 85°. The wood is in poor condition and there are metal-cut toolmarks on two of the elements. The site is set in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and ericaceous remains. SMR OF026-072---- is 3.78m to the N. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2003. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
