What is recorded here
A roundwood (diam. 0.09m), located in the drain face, with evidence of wood working. It was set within moderately humified Sphagnum peat with ericaceous remains immediately above the peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
