Structure

An irregular spread of over thirty-five pieces of brushwood on the field surface (L 3.2m; Wth 2m; D 0.1m min.). On the E side the wood is denser and irregularly laid with a general E-W orientation to the elements. To the W, this material diminishes and may have been affected by milling. The brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.05m) is up to three pieces in depth. This site is set in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with occasional ericaceous remains and fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2002. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
