Structure

Two tangentially split planks (Wth 1.08m min.; D 0.1m). The timbers (Wth 0.37-0.5m) are laid parallel. They are in well-humified, mor-humus woody peat. There is some brushwood in the vicinity but this appears to be natural. Dendrochronologically dated to AD 472±9 (Q10127). Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
