An isolated stake of alder (L 0.415m; diam. 0.054m) inserted into the ground at an angle of 80°. The tip was worked into a wedge point with distinct, concave tookmarks. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
