What is recorded here
A half split timber (L 1.09m; diam. 0.046m) lying horizontally within a horizon of natural wood and root at 0.73m from the peat surface. Birch and Scots pine were the recorded species. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
