What is recorded here
In 1962, Rynne recorded that, 'during the years 1942-5 .. a find was made about 12 ft. deep in a bog at Cloncumber (OS 6-inch maps 12 and 17)… a beehive-shaped (corbelled?) stone structure, about 2ft. high and about 1.5-2 ft. in diam. at the base, which, when opened was full of hazelnut shells. Nearby was found a human skeleton (KD012-017---) and the antlers of a giant Irish deer. The finder was Mr. Murt Murphy, Ballyteague, Kilmeague, Naas , Co. Kildare' (SMR file).
